Is Google Stealing My Ideas
Sometimes when I have an idea, then I search to see if it’s already a thing. Then if it’s not a thing, I wonder if Google will steal it. Then I panic and get all crabby at the world and spend the next couple years just waiting to see the thing I thought of out in the world. Then I go out with friends and talk about how I should be rich but someone stole my ideas. This has happened like 10 times. It’s why I think I should wear a tinfoil helmet and just communicate with people verbally in person in a room that is swept for listening devices every day.
You might be asking “why then do you have a website”? Look, it’s not a perfect world view.
Some New Words
Been participating in a songwriting club this summer, and as I go different places in my daily life, I feel more observant b/c I am always looking for things that might inspire lyrics etc. It doesn’t take much… which is a good thing, cuz I don’t really do much! Last week I was at a coffee shop with my kid and saw a couple of tiny metal wings on a table. It was weird. I think they may have been part of an earring. Or a necklace? Or a dead metal, tiny bird. But, how would that even work? Where was the rest of it? Is a metal bird body worth more than the wings and so some dead metal bird poacher just left the wings? Anyway….
She don’t get high like she used to
She don’t get high much at all
Gettin’ tired of makin nothin’ out of something
She’s falling, let it be nothing
Getting closer, to the breakdown
Just stay close
To the ground
Silver, lonely wings on the counter top
Who leaves earrings at the coffee shop?
Anyway, we will see if that turns into something.
Cheers.
The Exchange New Brighton
Played a neighborhood bar/restaurant here in New Brighton. Great atmosphere and lots of music lovers. Thanks to Justin and the crew for having us. We will be back on August 9th (Stockyard Days in New Brighton!) so hope to see you there.
Anything and Everything
Traveled to Phoenix to a friends studio and worked up a version of a new song I have been working on. Hope you enjoy.
This guy was there providing inspiration and a solid tambourine.
